Boulder Writing Studio
January 8th-February 12th
Do you love telling stories at dinner parties to your friends, at work to your colleagues, at home to your family? Do you ever wonder why some stories land better than others, or what it would be like to share your stories on stage?
Over the course of this 6-week workshop, you will develop, refine, finalize, memorize, and be prepared to “wow” your audience with your performance. Whether you set out to impress your own crowd or the wider public, the successful storyteller can often parlay these skills to one-man shows, memoirs, audio recordings and opportunities to appear on stage in front of a live audience. Bring your ideas for Week One and we will hone in on your story, find the perfect structure and practice a method of delivery that brings you and your personality front and center. There is a robust Boulder/Denver scene awaiting your finished product, including such world-renowned performance events as “The Moth” and “Risk.” Students will receive feedback in a safe space from NY storyteller and speaker Alyssa Pinsker, who has performed to accolades at the Moth, Story Collider, How I Learned Series, Yum’s the Word, New York Confidential and more.
